I asked my husband of 60+ years and being from the south what does it mean. He remember singing the song as a child but did not know. He said he took it to mean eating craze corn nuts and making a noise and the other person don't care about the noise of the eating nuts. I remember singing the song as a happy child in Texas but it never accured to me to ask my dad who was born in East Texas in 1898. After typing in the title, I was able to locate several searches.
